sadly, a wal-mart worker was trampled to death just because people were trying to rush in to get good deals from wal-mart. it's shocking to see such barbaric behavioral acts existing in our world today. for crying out loud, it's just wal-mart gimmicks! do people have to resort to killing someone just to purchase something from wal-mart? reportedly, the great deals that these people were rushing for at the valley stream wal-mart included a samsung 50-inch plasma HDTV for $798, a bissel compact upright vacuum for $28, a samsung 10.2 megapixel digital camera for $69 and DVDs such as "the incredible hulk" for $9. jeez is it really that cheap?

i hope the police manage to catch those involved and packed them all to jail.

i have just caught the twilight movie recently and i'm so in love with it! a movie with a combination of mystery, teenage romance, action, and lovely pieces of music makes it a perfect movie date for anyone. robert pattison looks absolutely gorgeous as usual, even with the thick makeup on to make him look as pale as possible. kristen stewart's acting as bella was pretty good, except her voice is able to put anyone to sleep (just like juno's).

i guess i have figured out hollywood's equation:
serious girl in school = outcast = boring voice = stunningly gorgeous after makeover


















edward cullen, who looks like a creep here, but is cute to the max in the movie itself.

Goodbye autumn my love

The first snowfall has recently arrived, bringing along with it a strong gust of cold breeze. Coming from a tropical area, i used to love winter, since snow is, more often than not, perceived as a beauty of nature. However, my perceptions have changed, having spent a time span of at least 12 months of harsh cold winter.



i dread the feeling of cold wind stinging my face. i dread the aftermath of a heavy snowfall. i dread the lifeless surroundings during winter, especially the bare trees with their wittered leaves.


i miss the warmth of the sun. i miss the bright colors of the flowers in full bloom during spring. i miss the lush green grass lawns. i miss the memories of many forms of outdoor activities taking place in both spring and summer. and most of all, i miss having not to wear thick outerwear clothings, which is a big burden on my petite body size.

this is a really good product and you can say goodbye to the time wasted on heating up a normal eyelash curler with a hair dryer or getting your eyelids burnt because of inability to control the temperature of the curler. this heated eyelash curler heats up to the optimal temperature within a short span of merely 30 seconds and you are on your way to beautiful curly eyelashes that seem to last. yes, just 30 seconds.. about the same time that jie jie takes to get her hair straightener iron heated up.

busy busy busy busy!!!! I have been a busy bear lately, with numerous tasks at hand. Now that I am slightly free, I am going to start sharing some of my favorite items out there in the market. There are so many consumer products out there trying to grab the green bucks from the pockets of the same group of consumers. So what really works and what doesn't? What is nice and what is not?

Here, I am going to start sharing some of my favorite items. Ocassionally, I might add in some of the products that really do not make the cut for me. Do bear in mind that this is personal preference and feel free to share yours too =)

did you miss me?

i have been mia (missing in action) for quite awhile as jie jie had been busy over the past few months preparing for her final exams, graduation ceremony and of course, travel plans for summer break. now that her schedule is less tight, she helps me to gain access to blogger again and so here i am finally! =) anyway, to make up for the lack of posts, i shall post up some pictures taken during spring break at indianopolis (yes, i know it has been long overdue... i am a slooooowwww bear)

happy easter day!

happy Easter Sunday! the day in which Jesus resurrected =)
hope that you have had a great time celebrating this joyful occasion.

yesterday, jie jie received her commencement guide. woo, i cant believe that she is graduating so soon!!! i am so excited for her but she seems to be nonchalant about it. i wonder why....

i remember my first commencement was held after i finished my kindergarten studies. however, jie jie told me that she did not had hers because she was in the unlucky batch used to test-trial the effect of attending pre-primary level studies in primary school. yes, so that means she studied in her primary school for 7 years rather than the usual 6 years. i suppose the test-trial failed, considering that it was supposed to "reduce the stress" faced by both students and family members when the student enters primary 1.

ten years after she finished her primary school education, jie jie finally has the chance to graduate formally.

do you want to attend her graduation ceremony with me?
p.s: jie jie is pretty, at least in my eyes. hee hee ~

i don't know whether it is just me but i certainly do see a striking resemblence between angela zhang and tila tequila. This is especially so since i have been watching 'romantic princess' and 'a shot at love' back to back. Both of them seem to share the same type of unique beauty. diversity

jie jie taught me an interesting theory about diversity today. apparently, this was what her professor taught her in class and it was meant to be a half-hearted joke. nonetheless, other than her, nobody else in the class seems to be laughing.

as for me, i have no comments as i am confused by the theory.

the diversity theory, which applies to the case for globalization:

if you like diversity, you should not consume diversity. this is because in doing so, you are actually eliminating diversity since consumption encourages trade and trading eliminates diversity. hence, everyone should just stay at home and not consume diversity. this implies that we should all not travel to different parts of the world and stay at home to watch national geographic instead.

in layman's term, if you truly love diversity and wish to protect it, you will not consume diversity. so stop complaining about globalisation and how everything is the same in every town and city because you are indirectly the cause of it.

yes, the world's oldest living person has just been 'discovered', and is none other than Mariam Amash from Jerusalem. if records of hers are proven to be accurate, she will replace Edna Parker's spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. Edna Parker, from Shelbyville, Indiana, is currently 114 years old. Guess how old is Mariam Amash?

envy me?

for some strange reason, kor kor and jie jie always envy me for my lackadaisical way of living. however, this is so not true. unlike their misconception that i live my life with no strings attached, i actually do have daily responsibilities. for instance, whenever jie jie leaves for school, i will help to watch over her room and take care of the rest of my buddies. when jie jie returns, i will always welcome her with my tender loving hug and a peck on her cheeks. as evident, my duties are really important since i act as a pillar of support for jie jie and my buddies. thus, kor kor and jie jie should not simply dismiss me as a slacker.

anyway, kor kor recently introduced me a new recipe -- that is, banana milk (literally). jie jie mashed up some real bananas and added milk. the result is banana milk, which is apparently high in fibre and likely to have the magical effect of releasing your bowels almost immediately.

scandals of edison

by now, the scandals of edison chen are probably known by all. if you are still in the unknown, just google his name. kor kor is ESPECIALLY updated on such news of scandalous acts. he was probably one of the pioneers to discover the initial batch of photos circulating around and first to know if any new photos of edison's scandals emerge. (this left me wondering whether kor kor is gay) today, he showed jie jie these two articles, titled gangsters planning to teach edison chen a lesson and vincy yeung.


the former article is just plain hilarious. seriously dude, is that the best look you can achieve to look sincere and apologetic?! even i can do better than that! this article somewhat proves the theory of six degrees of separation, which explains why kor kor has those photos in his computer. (he can't bear to delete them despite edison's pitiful pleas! nonetheless, i shall attempt in assisting him to do so.) well, i can't imagine myself being related somehow to edison's creditor, who was the one responsible for the release of these photos.

damn suay day for jie jie!

today is a suay (bad luck) day for jie jie. it doesn't help further that she had two midterm examinations scheduled on this day, both of which she thinks she had flunk badly. of all the days and times, god chose today to bestow large quantities of snow and wind when jie jie was walking on the street, resulting in jie jie almost being blown away by the strong wind. (the sun came out soon after she was indoors) of all the days, the parking lot was especially full today, leaving jie jie with no choice but to park illegally in a 'restricted' lot. of all times, the parking attendant chose to check upon the cars while jie jie was having her exam, resulting in her receiving a parking ticket, and it so does not cost cheap! (20 usd to be exact! knn... can buy a dress or a pair of shoes!) of all the days and times to receive a parking ticket, jie jie received it during the period in which the "new parking computer management system is under construction", which means she has to personally travel down to the building to pay her fine instead of paying it online. this series of unfortunate events has left her cursing and swearing away.

i hope that her luck turns for the better from now on.~

this is the website that jie jie and kor kor often visit online, other than the not-so-secret youtube site. it is highly recommended for those who are tv-less or studying/working overseas or even attending boring lectures. =) jie jie LOVES watching dramas on this site and usually gets hooked onto these shows subconsciously. trust me, it is a really addictive website. both jie jie and kor kor always put me in front of the computer just so i can watch their shows with them, not that i am complaining since i kinda like it too. The site is filled with all sorts of asian dramas and animes, ranging from thai (citizen dog) to hong kong (heart of greed) to japanese (gokusen) to korean (wonderful life). see, it consists of a wide variety of shows and best of all, it is free! i love citizen dog because it features a talking bear (just like me!) who smokes (i dont!) but jie jie found this light-hearted comic abit too strange for her liking. she prefers heart of greed and gokusen.

on another note, kor kor has been watching porn these few days (sometimes forcing me to watch with him as well) and his addiction to porn is worsening each day. jeez, knowing that all guys watch porn is one thing. approving them of doing so is another. since kor kor is such a disgusting lil boy, i shall post up some eye candy pictures of cute matsumoto jun to make jie jie happy.

happy valentine's day

happy valentine's day to all!

i sincerely hope that everyone had a great valentine's day.

yesterday, kor kor gave jie jie two dozen roses, and the roses came in assorted bright colors, ranging from the typical red color to exotic orange color. i was in awe when i saw the beautiful roses arrived at jie jie's door step in a gigantic box. i have never seen so many types of roses before and was pretty thrilled when jie jie gave me two roses - pink and white. both colors are my favorite colors =)

later in the day, i asked jie jie why do we celebrate valentine's day. she replied that v-day is a day in which we show our appreciation towards our loved ones. i pondered over what she said and agreed with her that love is the theme of v-day. nonetheless, v-day seems to be a day that invokes much emotion in everyone.

of course, the typical couples feel excited about spending this special day with their partners. yea, i saw the smile on strawberry shortcake's face when she dressed up for her date with astronaut. it also makes me feel sad because i miss king kong, whom i met in affinia manhattan hotel over the christmas break. i guess those unattached people will probably feel the same way as i do, and that is, vday is a dreadful day. other than the singles, there is also another category of people who will probably dread this day. this group of people is none other than the two-timers (or multiple-timers). yes, they are extremely UN-single. v-day is probably a "stressful" day for them. On this day, they either vanish from the surface of the earth or execute their multiple dates in the most precise timing ever with skilfull and careful planning. i have witnessed xxx kor kor doing this before. last but not least, v-day is likely to affect an unspoken group of people, namely the gay couples. it seems like they are usually being left out in the "normal" celebration of v-day. moreover, as long as they are together with their loved ones, i guess it does not matter how the society views them. hm, i wonder whether enpitsu is gay, since i have never seen him with a gal before.

nevertheless, when kor kor informed me that there had been a case of gun shootings in northern illinois uni last night, my image of a perfect v-day shattered completely. valentine's day 2008 is no longer a day of love. it is a day of fear and terror, thanks to a black sheep who chose to shoot others just to accompany him in his suicide. what is the difference between his doings and that of those suicide bombers in iraq?

worse of all, the killer was a graduate student in university of illinois at urbana-champaign. yes, this is the place where i am located. i am relieved that the incident did not happen here but the thought of it is still terrifying. i shudder to think of what might have happened otherwise. it also reminds us to constantly show our appreciation to our loved ones, even if it is not valentine's day.

i hate to end with such a bad note, but i am too distraught to write further.

p.s: when i let jie jie read my blog post before i publish it, she commented that there is another group who dreads v-day too. this group of people includes the kiam-siap (cheapskate) guys who often give the excuse that v-day is a commercialized day, hence, they are "allowed to" purchase cheap gifts (in some cases, nothing at all) for their gf. In her opinion, these people are usually the ones who do not give any gift to their gfs on any other usual days, and thus, have no rights to voice out their protests loudly on the very day that FORCES them to part with their money. i shall verify this statement with kor kor later.

it's been a rather quiet chinese new year this year. when i asked jie jie what chinese new year means to her, she said, "collect lots and lots of ang pow lor". when i asked kor kor what chinese new year means to him, he said, "i get to eat lots of pineapple tarts!" he then proceeded to show me his fat tummy. -_-" well, i guess by jie jie's and kor kor's definition, it means that i did not really celebrate chinese new year since not only did i not collect any ang pow, i also have limited supply of pineapple tarts. jie jie has put the container of pineapple tarts away, ever since she realized that the supply has suddenly reduced by a large propotion. =( for some strange reason, this feels deja vu. it reminds me of the scene whereby the jar of honey is always tucked away on the top of a high shelf, far from the reach of winnie the pooh. is this a common punishment for greedy bears? if so, it sure is a really cruel punishment!

today, kor kor made jie jie cry. bad kor kor!!! i have never seen jie jie cry so badly before, except for once, which was a long time back, but that is another story. i tried to comfort jie jie, but she told me that i would never understand because i'm just a bear. is it really so hard to truly understand someone? it seems to me that the minds of human beings can be quite difficult to comprehend at times. nonetheless, i will always be here for jie jie. i know that jie jie has been under lots of stress for the past few weeks, and i hope that she will feel better.

today is officially the first day of chinese new year! but i did not receive any angpow =(
jie jie is not attached so she cant give me angpow. nevertheless, i got to eat pineapple tarts in her room, courtesy of jie jie's and kor kor's fellow schoolmate, who brought it over from spore. yum yum~ i ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. hee, that is why the container is now half-filled or half-empty, whichever way you prefer to look at it.

jie jie also bought nian gao for me! gosh, do you know how rare it is to find nian gao in U.S?! especially in the area where i am residing currently. jie jie told me that we are in "champagne", but i am confused because i always thought that was a drink for adults. moreover, i do know that we are in the state of illinois. yes, the hometown of running presidential candidate, barack obama. isn't that pretty cool? jie jie thinks that he is very charismatic. kor kor will then retort back, "go marry him lor." both of them are really weird at times. well, as for me, i like the way his name rolls off my tongue easily and for some strange reason, it rhymes with "osama" too.

alright, i got to go and pee now before i wet jie jie's bed. i drank too much soft drinks today.

(heehee jie jie does not know i am the 'other party') i feel very fortunate because my jie jie dotes on me and allows me to play around freely on her bed. the same cannot be said for astronaut, strawberry shortcake and enpitsu. sometimes, they envy me for having such a privilege. however, i feel lonely at times because i am stuck in the bed and cant play with the rest of them on jie jie's table. oh, i have a facebook account too! feel free to add me if you want to! =) i'm so excited to be part of this cyberspace craze.

by the way, today is chinese new year and jie jie attempted to dress me up in qipao. however, because of my unproportionately big head size (yeah people have told me that i look like kor kor), i cant wear the qipao. =( looks like i have to go bai nian naked again. i dont want!!!! it's freezing cold outside and i have no clothes on. new year wear new clothes. bear bear wears no clothes.
